Our Heritage
Boori was born out of an independent nursery store in Sydney, Australia back in 1993. Our founder Justin Chui was running the shop when a factory supplying the products was struggling, Justin became more involved in production and eventually took ownership of the factory. Noticing a lack of coordinating furniture that could truly withstand the bumps and knocks of family life, Justin soon created Boori to meet the demand.
Over 25 years later we now have stores across six countries and our very own purpose-built factory in the province of Jiaxing in China. Since our small beginnings, we’ve now grown into a truly global furniture brand trusted by over 1 million parents!
Inspired by Nature
With nature at the heart of our inspiration, you may recognise some of the design elements of our furniture. Whether that be the swirl of a seashell in our Sleigh styles or our rich paint finishes such as Coffee or Almond.
Crafted by Nature
Throughout the years, our expert craftsmen in Jiaxing have been refining our production process to ensure our furniture is of the highest quality. We use timber which is hand selected from sustainable plantations to minimise our effect on the world’s tree population. We use cutting-edge laser measuring technology to ensure we use as much of our wood as possible. Therefore, we produce very little waste resulting in using fewer trees to make our products.

Our refining process is a true labour of love. We adopt state-of-the-art technology to optimise the use of our raw timbers then our craftsmen shape and sand each individual piece that goes into our furniture. It’s our own blend of hand and machine sanding and refining that ensures that every piece is the best it can be.
Our flawlessly smooth texture and signature rich depth of colour is born of our unique, multi-stage finishing process. We patiently sand between each multiple layer of colour, building a deep, durable finish that will stand the test of time.

We care passionately about our planet and your home, which is why we have been using sustainable materials wherever possible for as long as we can remember. We also try to adopt processes that reduce our impact on the environment across all areas of the business.
We have an unwavering commitment to creating nursery and child friendly furniture, which will never change. We could stop at the low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paint and real solid wood, but why would we when we can take this one step further.
We ensure our products have the longevity and functionality families crave, which we achieve through our unique, trademarked conversion technologies and by ensuring our products are designed with family use in mind. We think about how families will use a product and what they might need from it, before adapting the design (where possible) to make it last even longer. This is sustainable living in a whole new way.
The sustainable and caring efforts we have taken have been recognised by many in our industry including ‘Loved by Parents’ who named us as the ‘Best Ethical Brand’ in 2019.

We also offer full-sized dressers, chests and wardrobes, giving you plenty of space throughout the years.
